Peer Review Process
The peer-review process is the most important part of the publication workflow. Asian Accounting Science Journal (AASJ) uses a double-blind peer-review model where reviewers do not know the names of the authors, and authors do not know who is reviewing their manuscript. This model has been implemented thanks to the Open Journal System that the editorial team successfully uses for the workflow.
- The journal editorial office checks the manuscript to ensure that it is suitable for the peer-review process. In particular, the assistant editor performs the first verification
- After the first review of the manuscript by the editorial office, the manuscript is transferred to the Editorial Board of the journal. All manuscripts must be peer-reviewed by qualified peers in the field, therefore the Editor appoints a reviewer to review the manuscript.
- After the report is submitted by the reviewer, the Editor reviews it and makes one of the following recommendations:
- Reject
- Consider after Major Changes
- Consider after Minor Changes
- Publish Unchanged
- In the case of "Reject," the correspondence author is sent a report of any review that has been submitted and informed that the manuscript will not be considered for publication in this journal.
- In the case of "Consider after Major Changes," the corresponding author will be informed that he/she should update the version and resubmit a new version of his/her manuscript with the necessary changes suggested by the reviewer. This may require new data collection or major changes in the text. The manuscript is then reassessed by one or more reviewers before the Editor makes a new recommendation.
- In the case of "Consider after Minor Changes," the corresponding author will be informed that he/she should update the version and resubmit the final copy of his/her manuscript with the necessary minor changes suggested by the reviewer. After that, the Editor may recommend "Publish Unaltered".
In the case of "Publish Unaltered," the manuscript will undergo a final check by the editorial office to ensure that it complies with the journal's policies. The corresponding author will be notified of the acceptance of the manuscript.
